A True Story: Woman & Dog

They were two loyal companions, bound by a unique bond. When they first met, both were very young. Lucky was just two months old, and Duygu was a young woman at the start of her journey in life. Together, they created a story destined to make its mark on the world

The First Idea

The original aim was to create coordinated clothing and accessories for pets and their owners. This innovative concept quickly drew attention and received extensive coverage in the national media. The brand was registered in Turkey and across Europe, and through participation in trade fairs, it successfully reached its target audience.

Luck will always find you, but if you use your mind, you can make the most of it.

Lucky’s illness Challenging Period

During the brand’s peak, Lucky was diagnosed with a very rare form of mesothelioma. Many vets suggested euthanasia, but Duygu did everything she could to keep her faithful companion by her side.

Thanks to her love and care, Lucky went on to live another 10 years.

Over that decade, Lucky faced numerous health challenges, including mesothelioma, mast cell tumours, an enlarged heart, and epilepsy….

Love gives life. Love heals. Love transforms.

Lucky & Friends: A Story of Love and Dedication

Lucky & Friends began as an idea inspired by the special bond between pets and their owners. The brand’s founder, Duygu, made her dog Lucky the face of the company, creating story-driven products that reflected emotion in every detail — from fabric to packaging and character design.

During the brand’s growth, Lucky was diagnosed with a rare form of mesothelioma. Despite veterinarians recommending euthanasia, Duygu stood by her loyal companion with love and determination. Thanks to her dedication, Lucky fought through several serious illnesses and went on to live for another ten years.

Lucky’s illness also opened an entirely new commercial path for Duygu. She reorganised the time she once devoted to production and marketing to care for her beloved friend, transforming her home into Turkey’s first pet shop café. This bold decision introduced a brand-new business model in a different sector and attracted widespread attention.

Throughout this journey, Duygu gained valuable commercial experience — from national and international trade fairs to B2B & B2C sales, distribution partnerships, export operations and direct customer engagement. These experiences formed the foundation of the strong commercial perspective that Lucky & Friends carries today.

Love gives life. Love heals. Love transforms.

New Direction Petshop Cafe

Transforming the Home into a Shop

Lucky’s illness marked a turning point that changed the direction of the brand. The founder redirected the time she had previously devoted to production and marketing toward caring for her beloved companion. This period inspired the birth of Turkey’s first “pet shop café” concept. Duygu never left her loyal friend’s side and decided to transform her home into a new source of income. This decision resonated widely in the media as a powerful success story, where faith, determination, and love came together.

  • FOUNDER'S NOTE

Love gives life , Love heals , Love transforms ❤️

  • Before Lucky came into my life,

I was a 24-year-old woman who was afraid of animals. During my university years, I met a female friend on a train who was studying veterinary medicine.

  • One day she called me and said,

Would you like to channel the profound love in your heart towards an animal?

  • This decision was very difficult for me.

Because I was both afraid of dogs and unemployed.

  • She was insistent that I adopt the newborn Golden Retriever puppy.

We had both graduated, and she had just opened her veterinary clinic.

  • One night, I had a dream. There was a Golden Retriever puppy in my arms.

The genuine love I felt in that dream gave me courage. The next morning, I said, “I’m ready. I’m coming.

  • I don’t know how it happened, but I now had a dog.

From that moment, I was responsible for both myself and Lucky.

  • Shortly after, it felt as if miracles were raining into my life.

I received a job offer from a strategy agency serving national and international brands. My work was quickly recognized, and I won awards for my achievements.

  • My career was taking off, yet something was missing.

And I had to make a choice. I chose Lucky.

Lucky shouldn’t have stayed alone in an apartment until the evening.

  • It was time to create

    Lucky & Friends.

The brand quickly attracted attention, and Lucky became the face of the brand.

  • One morning was terrible for both of us. A rare form of cancer had found us.

Lucky had been diagnosed with mesothelioma, riddled with countless tumours, and the veterinarians recommended euthanasia

  • I trusted not what the veterinarians said, but what my heart told me.

And I asked Lucky. I looked into his eyes and said, “Look at me and tell me… you’re going to live, aren’t you?”

    And she blinked at me.😉

  • A magical connection began between us

And after that day, she lived with me for another ten years.

Despite facing many types of cancer and illnesses.

  • I have been working for Lucky & Friends for 11 years

If you were to ask me what my greatest achievement in life is, it would be the times I fought to heal Lucky. However, knowing how to structure your story in the face of challenges and turn your hardships into sacred experiences is what defines me and Lucky & Friends Ltd today.

  • love gives life, love heals, love transforms ❤️

I hope you, too, create a world where love is your choice.
